Linford Christie's Son Jailed for Drug Dealing Near Shepherd's Bush Town Centre

Liam Oliver-Christie, the 33 year-old son of Olympic sprinter Linford Christie, has been sentenced to four years in prision after admitting dealing drugs including heroin and crack cocaine at his home in Lakeside Road, close to the centre of Shepherd's Bush.

Police say Liam Oliver Christie was sentenced on 25 September at Isleworth Crown Court to four years in prison for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs worth £1,410.

This follows the execution of a drugs warrant by local officers on Lakeside Road in November last year.

Christie had been due to be tried for the offences this week, but changed his plea to guilty last week.

He pleaded admitted possessing crack cocaine, with intent to supply, on November 9, last year and possessing heroin, with intent to supply, at his home address in Lakeside Road,

Oliver-Christie, who has previous drug convictions, received four years on each count to run concurrently with each other.

Earlier this month he failed to show up for a hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest, but surrendered himself to the court the following week.

Linford Christie, who still lives locally won gold for Great Britain in the 100m at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and was also victorious in the event at World, European and Commonwealth championships. He was awarded the MBE in 1990 and OBE in 1998 and in 1993, the West London Stadium on the edge of Wormwood Scrubs was renamed the Linford Christie Stadium in his honour.

Liam’s mother is Yvonne oliver, who had a short relationship with the athlete and he has a twin sister, Korel.
