Dennis Gayle gets six years inside for attack in Notting Hill
A 34-year-old man has been jailed for six-and-a-half years after being found guilty of seriously injuring a man by stabbing him in the neck with a pair of scissors.
Dennis Gayle, of Cobbold Road, W12 was jailed at Isleworth Crown Court on 20 April having pleaded guilty to GBH with intent at an earlier hearing. He had earlier pleaded not guilty but changed his plea.

The court heard that on 17 October 2017 at around 11pm the victim, also aged 34, had been outside a bar in Westbourne Park Road when he was approached by Gayle, who was known to him. Gayle asked the man if he could show him where the nearest cash machine was and he agreed.
He was shown to Gayle's car and the pair spoke as they arrived in Portobello Road, W10, near the junction with Lancaster Road, where they both got out.
The conversation turned sour and the victim attempted to leave but Gayle approached his vehicle and pulled out a pair of scissors. He then attacked the victim, stabbing him in the neck before fleeing the scene in the direction of Golborne Road.
Members of the public tended to the injured man until London Ambulance Service arrived and he was taken to a west London hospital where he required extensive treatment for the life-threatening injury before he was discharged.
Detective Sergeant Chris Taylor, of Kensington and Chelsea police, led the investigation. He said: "This was a petty dispute that very nearly resulted in a man losing his life. Now Gayle will spend a significant period of his life in prison.
"We remain as committed as ever to curbing violent crime in London. In this case alone, four Detective Constable's carried on working throughout the night to ensure that Gayle was charged and remanded. Their dedicated work kept a dangerous man off London's streets."
