32 year-old Stephen Blake charged with murder on Saturday

 

Detectives investigating the murder of a 42 year-old man in Hammersmith on Thursday, 1 March have charged a man with murder.

32-year-old Stephen Blake, of Melrose Gardens, off Shepherd's Bush was charged on Saturday 3 March and due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court the same day.

The victim was stabbed to death in a property in Melrose Gardens, off Shepherd's Bush Road early on Thursday evening.

Police arriving at the scene arrested Mr Blake inside the property and took him into custody at a west London police station.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said, "At this early stage, nobody else is sought in connection with this investigation."

The victim was found suffering from stab wounds at around 5.40pm and pronounced dead at the scene.

Local people posted pictures and videos of the scene at around 6pm, with the street cordoned off and the property surrounded by cars.
