Police no longer seeking to identify man in CCTV image released earlier
An arrest has been made by detectives investigating the rape of a teenage girl in Shepherd's Bush.
The arrest came after police released a CCTV image and appealed for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with the incident which took place on 27 October 2016.
On that day, the victim and her friend were approached by two men whilst shopping in Westfield in Shepherd's Bush.
At approximately 3.45am the following morning, the women were split up by the men and one of them forced the victim towards an entrance to West 12 Shopping Centre where he raped her. The two women quickly left the area and made their way home, where they contacted police.
After being questioned at a London police station, the man arrested was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Investigators are no longer appealing for help to identify the man in the CCTV image released on Thursday, 4 May.
