Police Seek Victim of 'Hate Crime Related Incident' on Uxbridge Road
After footage of woman being verbally abused by man appears on social media
Hammersmith and Fulham police officers are asking the female victim of a possible hate crime on Uxbridge Road to contact them about the incident.
Police say they are aware of footage being shown on social media of a woman being verbally abused by a man in what appears to be a hate-crime related incident. The confrontation is believed to have happened on the Uxbridge Road, near Shepherd's Bush market.
Detectives from Hammersmith and Fulham's Community Safety Unit would like to speak to the victim and are asking her to contact them by calling 101.
Anyone with information that may assist this investigation, or who was in the store when the footage was taken, is also urged to call police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Police say enquiries are ongoing and adds that the Metropolitan Police Service will not tolerate hate crime and it is committed to tackling it in all its forms.
The Met says: " We understand the significant and often enduring impact hate crime can have upon victims and within their communities and are constantly striving, working in partnership with specialists, to increase reporting, capture evidence, support victims and bring offenders to justice.
" We have more than 900 specialist officers across London working in our Community Safety Units who are dedicated to investigating hate crime, and we work closely with faith hate organisations, including TellMAMA re Islamophobia and the Community Security Trust (CST) re anti-Semitism."
