Transport police appeal for witnesses
British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses after two people attacked an officer over a ticket dispute at Shepherd's Bush Central line Tube station on Christmas Eve.
Detective Constable Denis Mahoney, the investigating officer, said:
"Around 5pm on Christmas Eve, a female PC was attacked by a man and a woman during a ticket dispute.
"The pair was arrested at the scene."
The officer, aged 43, suffered two black eyes and bruising and swelling to her jaw.
A 28-year-old woman from West Hampstead and a 26-year-old man from Holloway were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and have been bailed to return to police on Thursday 4 February.
DC Mahoney added: "We have made arrests and are trying to build a complete picture of what happened on the day. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and talk to us."
