Screening of 'Roadmap to Apartheid'

Award winning documentary to be shown at the Chiswick Catholic Centre

A film described by Archbishop Desmond Tutu as 'powerful and compelling' is to be shown at the Chiswick Catholic Centre.

'Roadmap to Apartheid' will be screened at 7pm on Tuesday 3rd June and admission is free. It is presented by the West London Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Narrated by Alice Walker (author of The Color Purple), the film interweaves archive footage from South Africa and Israel/Palestine, with interviewees from both countries considering if the Apartheid analogy is so important for understanding the Israeli context. While the film presents a stark picture of the present within Israel and the territories it controls, it also offers hope by looking to the peace that South Africa eventually found.

Roadmap to Apartheid

Abraham Greenhouse for the Electronic Intifada said, "Not only is Roadmap the first documentary to offer an in-depth exploration of parallels between the South African and Israeli forms of apartheid, but it presents the material in such a way as to serve as a fairly comprehensive and accessible introduction for audiences with no prior exposure to the issue"

There will be time for a short discussion after the film
