Famous pair surprise shoppers with impromptu performance
If you missed the impromptu performance in Westfield by Liam Payne and Niall Horan of boy band of the moment One Direction, you can now watch the whole thing on YouTube.
The famous pair surprised visitors to the Shepherd's Bush shopping centre when they strolled along the Southern Terrace last Thursday, August 2, then sat down on a pop-up stage to sing and play their single, What Makes You Beautiful with the help of one of Westfield’s house bands, Soul Chango.
They were soon surrounded by fans who sang along with the song, and photographed the free show on their mobile phones. Among them was 18 year-old Olivia Connelly, who uploaded it onto YouTube, where has already had almost 200,000 views.
The show was a highlight of Westfield London's summer entertainment programme, which includes over 150 live performances, screenings of the Olympic Games, and fashion and dining offers.
Westfield has teamed up with the BBC to screen live coverage of all the Olympic action, which is free to watch from The Balcony. And once you have watched Team GB winning gold, head for the #IWasThere photo booth and be snapped in front of athletics stadium backdrop.
All visitors to the photo booth will be given a complimentary tote bag containing an exclusive oyster card wallet and temporary fashion tattoo transfer. You can find the photo-booth on the First Floor outside The Village until the 9th September.
Whilst Games fever sweeps the country, try your hand at a selection of sports at Westfield London. Ping England is hosting Ping Pong workshop and for the more adventurous, freestyle gymnasts and free runners from Team Kinetix are demonstrating their extreme routines, interspersed with tutorials and gymnastics workshops.
Westfield London has a stunning roster of live music performances this summer in five pop-up entertainment zones. Westfield London is staging a selection of fantastic theatre shows throughout August. From magic acts to Hula Hoop shows and musical theatre, Westfield is the only place to be to experience a plethora of live musical spectacles.
Kids have a variety of free activities to take part in; from face painting to the chance to meet their television idols.
