Upper Room Winter Lectures Are Back at St Saviour's
Royal Collection's Matthew Morgan talks this month on Peter Paul Rubens
The Upper Room Winter Lecture Series is back in 2019 at St Saviour's Church in Cobbold Road.
On 28 February, Matthew Morgan the series' anchor lecturer, who has recently moved from the National Gallery to work for the Royal Collection, addresses the subject of 'Peter Paul Rubens - diplomat and painter of genius.'
On Thursday 28 March, Sian Alexander, Executive Director, will speak about 'The Lyric Hammersmith - the theatre’s place in Hammersmith past, present and future'. Sian also hopes to bring one or two of the theatre’s rising young stars with her.
The April lecture, the last of 2019, is still to be announced. It will inevitably have a Brexit flavour, but who knows what bitter-sweet flavour that might be?
All the speakers in this annual series have given their time free to support The Upper Room, a charity based at St Saviour which has been been working to help socially disadvantaged people in London since 1990, including homeless people, economic migrants and ex-offenders.
Entry is free but donations are welcome. Come, enjoy their expertise, and support The Upper Room.
