Upper Room Winter Lectures Continue in April at St Saviour's


BBC correspondent Matthew Price discusses Brief Encounters on the Refugee Trail

The 2018 Upper Room Winter Lecture Series continues in April and May at St Saviour's Church in Cobbold Road, W12.

Matthew Price, award winning chief correspondent on the BBC’s Today programme, will deliver a talk entitled Brief Encounters on the Refugee Trail on Wednesday 18 April, which he describes as his reflections on the stories of refugees and immigrants who have crossed the Mediterranean.

The final lecture this year, on Wednesday 9 May will be on Current issues relating to Brexit by Chuka Umunna M.P.

Entry to the hour-long lectures is free, but donations are welcome. Places can be booked by emailing arlene.burnett@theupperroom.org.uk or calling 020 8740 5688.

All the speakers in this annual series have given their time free to support The Upper Room, a charity based at St Saviour which has been been working to help socially disadvantaged people in London since 1990, including homeless people, economic migrants and ex-offenders.

The lectures will take place in St Saviour’s Church, Cobbold Road, W12 9LN, 8pm-9pm. Refreshments will be available from 7.40pm.
