A chance to be part of a choir of 1,000 voices
If you’ve got a singing voice, or you are a member of a choir, there's a chance to take part in the Southbank’s Chorus Festival. Sing Out Sunday on April 5th in the Royal Festival Hall will be offering the opportunity to sing as part of a choir of 1000 voices.
The evening promises a celebration of all things choral, and will feature a live band, guest vocalists from BBC’s The Voice, and a mass choir made up of the ACM Gospel Choir, Singology Choir, Southbank’s Voicelab choir and of course, anyone who wants to get involved.
Sing Out Sunday will be a ticketed event open to the general public and prices are on the website. However you do not have to pay if you participate in the mass choir.
The mass choir will be hosted the Mark De-Lisser and the ACM Gospel Choir, who have already set records for performing the world’s highest ever gig. Songs on the night will come primarily from De-Lisser’s Sing Out! Book series, a collection of songs arranged specifically for choirs. Individuals and choirs are needed to form the choir of 1000 Voices.
The mass choir will be performing 6 songs together, but there is no need for an audition to take part! Places in the choir are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so all you need to get involved is a willing voice and a few moments of your time to sign up.
Individual participants and choirs will need to be available all day at the Southbank Centre in London on April 5th 2015. In addition, participants will have the chance to take part in an entire day of workshops and performance opportunities on Saturday 4th April.
