Open day taking place at Shepherd's Bush Library
Shepherd's Bush Library is hosting a special open day for The Open University on November 18.
The event will see Open University advisers on hand to answer questions about its courses and qualifications, study methods, and other aspects of learning.
The open day runs from 12 noon to 7pm, and to speak to an advisor, just turn up on the day.
An Open University tutor will also be running taster sessions in Business Studies at 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
These sessions are a great way to get a feel for studying Business Studies at undergraduate level with The Open University. Places at these free taster sessions are limited, so please book in advance by calling 020 7556 6153.
The Open University event has the full support of the library's Work Zone - an employment bureau based inside the building.
Since it opened last year, the new Shepherd's Bush Library at Westfield has proved extremely popular, with membership tripling. The council says it is because it is 'More than Library' offering residents a wide variety of services under one roof.
Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for residents' services, said: "While promoting reading and supplying books will remain a central element to our service, we have always said that modern libraries should be much more than that.
"We are delighted to welcome The Open University to the new library and hope that many people will attend on November 18."
