Local MP's Christmas card competition for primary school pupils is launched
Some schoolchildren are already be counting down the days to Christmas and local MP Ruth Cadbury is getting her festive to-do list up and running early this year.
The MP for Brentford and Isleworth has announced that her third Christmas card competition is launched and primary school pupils throughout the constituency are invited to design a card which will be sent out from her Westminster office in December. The winner gets to have afternoon tea with their local MP in Westminster.
The winning Christmas card should promote festive cheer in Brentford and Isleworth, as well as to showcase the artistic talent of our pupils.
Ruth will choose a winning card by the end of October 2017. Children have been asked to use strong colour or contrast in their designs as that prints well. Any theme that celebrates Christmas, another winter-time festival or a wintery theme is welcomed. The competition is open to all primary aged pupils children in Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Osterley and Hounslow.
Ruth says: ‘I hope the competition will be as successful as it has
been in the previous two years. This is an excellent opportunity for children
to develop and enhance their inventive and creative skills. I look forward
to receiving and admiring the artwork from children in the constituency.
I know I can expect some brilliant entries from all across the constituency.’
If you would like more information on the competition, please go to Ruth’s website.
The closing date for entries is 30th of October and the winning card
will be Ruth’s official Christmas card for 2017. The designer of
the winning entry will be invited, along with their parents or carers
to meet Ruth for afternoon tea.
