Rainforest invertebrates are some of the biggest of their kind on the planet. The female jungle nymph, a type of stick insect, is among the heaviest insects in the world. Giant millipedes can reach over 25cm in length. And of course, jungle-dwelling spiders can also reach impressive sizes.

The Rainforest Roadshow gives you the opportunity to meet and appreciate first-hand some of the amazing wonders of the natural world, and to find out how conservation can help them continue to thrive.

Martin Senior, London Wetland Centre’s General Manager, said “We are delighted to be able to offer visitors the opportunity to see close up some of the unique animals found in rainforest habitats. You’ll be able to encounter these exotic minibeasts indoors, but also take your own nature walk outside to see what local wetland wildlife you can find.”

Throughout half term week you can also come along to London Wetland Centre’s new Rotten Show to see – and join in with - some disgusting experiments showing what happens when plants and animals decay and decompose. They’ll also be running a Big Draw: see what wetland wildlife and scenes you can create with crayons and paints. Then there’s the popular Halloween Party for families on Wednesday 31 October where spooky fun includes firelighting with scary stories, a bat walk with eerie encounters, and a late viewing of the Rotten Show.
