New appeal for information issued on firebombing
Police have issued a further request for information to help with their investigation into an arson attack which occured on Wednesday May 3rd.
The incident took place at the home of Sue Sampson at Woodstock Avenue. She was the Labour Candidate for the Isleworth ward in the local elections which were taking place the next day.
Police and London Fire Brigade investigators discovered that an 'accelerant' had been thrown at wheelie bins which were situated outside the lounge window. A male guest staying in the lounge heard a large bang and woke Ms. Sampson who alerted the Fire Brigade. Her children, aged 10 and 12, were also in the house at the time but noone was injured.
At this point the police have no descriptions of any potential suspects and no arrests have been made.
DI Paul Beetham of Hounslow CID said, " We are following a number of lines of enquiry. I would appeal to anyone who might have been in the area in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 3.5.06 and saw anything suspicious to contact police as a matter of urgency."
