London Mayor, London Assembly and European Elections

Arbour re-elected for South West Constituency

This constituency covers Hounslow and Richmond Boroughs including most of Chiswick and Brentford.

Tony Arbour has retained his seat with a reduced majority but with his number of votes remaining steady.

The Liberal Democrat candidate was the only one from a major party not to see their number or share of the vote fall.

Labour's share of the vote fell to 16% but the swing against Labour was less than in other constituencies.

Overall turnout was up on the 2000 election but remains at historically low levels suggesting the major spending on promoting the election has been in effective.

Ken Livingstone was re-elected as London Mayor on a smaller majority than last time out. In the constituency he was the most popular candidate despite his party coming third in the Assembly election.
