Paul Bristow using cyberspace to keep people in touch
Building on his regular surgeries and meetings with resident associations, Fulham Reach councillor Paul Bristow has now embraced a new form of political communication – the blog.
The site is now officially live at http://thebristowblog.typepad.com
Blogging has become a worldwide, communication phenomenon and is growing rapidly by the day. There are an estimated 52 million blogs on every subject under the sun, and more and political blogs are appearing on the scene as people realise this is a great way to get their particular voice heard.
Paul said, “I believe that blogs will take political communication to the next level in Britain over the next few years. The better blogs are already beginning to set the agenda on political issues, break key stories and most of all, make politics entertaining without trivialising the process."
He promises to update his blog regularly with details of his activities as a local councillor plus his views on local issues and the occassional rant! He is hoping this will be a popular way of letting people know what he is up to as well about talking about living in Hammersmith generally. He said, "I believe that this part of London is very special and I enjoy living here enormously. It is an area with tremendous potential for the future and already has a vibrant and interesting past and present. There are many voluntary groups and individuals who make our community a better place in which to live. I want to also talk about the work that they do."
He is encouraging people to visit his site and leave comments in the feedback section whether you agree with what he says or not.
