But ticket RUBY 7100 1234 still unclaimed days before expiring
Members of Hammersmith's London Corinthian Sailing Club took to the Thames on Saturday to assist in The National Lottery’s search for the Borough’s One Million Pound Lotto Millionaire Raffle winner.
With just days to go until the missing Lotto ticket is due to expire on 23 February, the team from the Sailing Club called on surprised sailors and landlubbers alike to check their tickets from the unique Team GB-inspired Lotto Medal Draw on 27 August 2016for the winning Millionaire Raffle code RUBY 7100 1234.
The one-off Lotto draw on 27 August 2016 was held to thank National Lottery players for the support they have given Team GB through playing the lottery.
Every week Lotto Millionaire Raffle guarantees to create two millionaires but the winner, who bought their Lotto ticket somewhere in our borough, was one of 27 millionaires created in the draw to celebrate 27 Gold medals won in Rio.
Taking to the water and using the London Corinthian Sailing Club’s fleet of dinghies, three of which were purchased thanks to National Lottery funding, was particularly apt given the success of Team GB sailors who scooped two Gold and a Silver in Rio.
The fleet, whose sails sported the winning Lotto Millionaire Raffle code RUBY 7100 1234, attracted plenty of attention as it braved a brisk breeze to sail along the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham’s stretch of the Thames.
The National Lottery has invested over £5 billion in grassroots sport to date, with London Corinthian Sailing Club just one of those that has benefitted. Keen sailor and volunteer at the Club Warren Kendall who was aiding in the millionaire search said: “The London Corinthian Sailing Club’s purchase of its clubhouse was one of the first projects awarded lottery funding through Sport England in 1996. This fundingsafeguarded our building for sports use in perpetuityand is an invaluable resource for a club such as ours meaning we can offer dinghy and offshore sailing and training to people all across London.
“Through National Lottery funding the Club has also been able to install a pontoon and develop a new sailor skills programme, thereby encouraging more people to experience the fun, camaraderie and challenge of sailing right here in the nation’s capital.
“We are delighted to support the hunt and hope we find that lucky ticket-holder. As a club we already feel like lottery winners due to the National Lottery funding we have enjoyed, now let’s find that other lottery winner in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham!”
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery said: “We’re eager to find the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham’s mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. Team GB’s success in Rio, when their haul was a whopping 67 medals, was outstanding and worthy of celebration with an extra special Lotto draw, now we just need to find the Borough’s winner to help them celebrate their own win!”
If no one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prizemoney, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK. The National Lottery changes the lives of individuals as well as communities – players raise, on average, over £30 million for National Lottery-funded projects every week.
With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
