Just a few flats still for sale at Ravenscourt Park development

Just a handful of apartments remain for sale at Ashlar Court, Linden Homes' development on the site of the iconic Grade II listed building which once housed nurses working at Hammersmith's Royal Masonic Hospital.

Linden Homes says the development, containing 86 one, two and three bedroom flats close to Ravenscourt Park offers buyers a unique chance to secure a special slice of London’s Modernist architectural history.

The brick-built local landmark was where nurses once lived working at the neighbouring hospital opened in 1933 by King George V.

The developer says residents will enjoy private grounds, Art Deco highlights and the original features designed by the influential architect firm of Burnet, Tait and Lorne which helped lead the way in 20th century British Modern building style.

The building's design means that the apartments have tall windows, with French windows in some properties opening onto balconies, terraces or private rooftop gardens. A landscaped garden featuring a refurbished fountain is the development’s centrepiece and its character has been honoured with the careful preservation of historic features such as decorative bronze lighting and iconic clocks.

Linden Homes have two more proposed developments at either end of Ravenscourt Park - 258 - 264 Goldhawk Road, where the former Carpetright building has been demolished to make way for 40 new homes, including six classed as affordable. At 271 - 281 King Street meanwhile, the developer intends to demolish the existing six storey building and replace it with a new development designed by architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, who are based in nearby St Peter's Square. However an application to build 64 one to three bedroom homes are being created in buildings from two to seven storeys high was refused by H&F Council.
