New Plan to Improve Health and Wellbeing

Have your say on five-year borough-wide strategy

Residents are being asked for their views on a five-year vision for improving the health and wellbeing of local people at every stage of their lives.

Hounslow’s Health and Wellbeing Board is consulting on a new joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy for the borough.  This sets out priorities for joint action by the key commissioners: the council, the Clinical Commissioning Groups and the NHS Commissioning Board.

Cllr Jagdish Sharma, Leader of the council and chair of the Hounslow Health and Wellbeing Board, said:

“Health and wellbeing can be affected by poverty, education, employment and the physical environment, and wellbeing isn’t just about being free from illness. It’s about feeling physically and mentally well, and being able to be part of our local community.

“Being as healthy and well as we can be helps us to do the things we want to do and means that we can play an active role in our families, our communities and our borough.

“We want to improve the health and well being of all our residents, and our draft strategy sets out how we intend to do this.  I would like to encourage residents to give us their feedback on our vision as good health is important to us all.”

The consultation runs until 1 November and the feedback will shape the final strategy.
