Hounslow Council’s Five Ways to Wellbeing campaign will return on Sunday 3 November, offering residents five weeks of themed activities aimed at improving physical and mental health. The initiative, which proved popular during its first run in 2024, encourages residents to take small, practical steps to support their wellbeing.
Each week of the campaign will focus on one of five evidence-based actions: Connect, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice, and Give. These themes are drawn from research by the New Economics Foundation and are designed to help individuals build resilience and improve their overall quality of life.
The campaign will run until 7 December and will feature a mix of returning and new activities. Free passes to Lampton Leisure sites will be available again, alongside a photography competition offering prizes of up to £50 in Amazon vouchers. Additional events and local offers will be introduced to help residents engage with each weekly theme.
Throughout the campaign, Hounslow Council will highlight services across the borough that support each wellbeing action. For example, during the “Give” week, volunteering opportunities will be promoted, with links provided to help residents get involved.
Councillor Lily Bath, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Transformation, said, “The Five Ways to Wellbeing is a great opportunity to try something new, connect with others and discover the brilliant local services that can make a real difference to their everyday lives.
“Throughout the autumn, we’d love you to take part in a range of free or low-cost local activities. I’m particularly looking forward to judging the photography competition again, as I was very impressed with the standard last year!
Helping people to stay active in body and mind is one of the ways we’re supporting people in Hounslow to live longer, healthier lives.”
Residents can stay informed about weekly activities by following the Council’s social media channels or subscribing to the Thrive newsletter.
