Hounslow Council is ‘rallying the troops’ in the fight against Covid-19 and calling on residents to apply for jobs to help save lives.

Working with the NHS to fill hundreds of vital vacancies across hospitals and other locations, residents are being urged to check out the positions on offer and get their applications in as quickly as possible.

Local residents, who may have been made redundant, on furlough or looking for a career change, are urged to consider these roles.

As the Covid-19 testing and vaccination programmes ramp-up, the need for paid workers is increasing across the NHS and, as a critical partner, Hounslow Council is supporting the recruitment process.

Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said, “The response of NHS staff and those who have already come forward to help out – including former staff, students and volunteers – has been nothing short of inspirational.

“The NHS is about to start the largest vaccination programme in NHS history. The Covid-19 vaccine will save lives - and you could be part of it.

“This will be a huge task and we need extra people to deliver the programme in the borough of Hounslow. Whether you have a medical background, first aid skills, or good people and organisational skills, there could be a role for you.

“Your NHS needs you. Paid and volunteer roles are available, with training and flexible hours, so you can work around other commitments. It’s a great opportunity to make a difference and start a career in healthcare.”

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
