Brentford Football Hooligan Gets National Ban

Jeremy Clark nabbed after being spotted on Panorama

A 40 year old Brentford FC supporter has received a two-year banning order that prevents him from attending all League and England games for the next two years, following his appearance on a Panorama programme depicting football hooligans in the Summer.

Jeremy Clark of 18 Cranston Close, Hounslow West appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on 31st October after pleading guilty to a notice which was served on him at his home address under Section 21B Football Spectators Act 1989. He was also ordered to pay costs of £500.

Clark was in a bar in Frankfurt during the World Cup for the first England match when disorder occurred between English and German supporters. Clark was caught on camera throwing a bar stool and encouraging others to be involved in disorder.

He was later captured on a covert camera bragging about the altercation between the groups. He was identified following his appearance on a Panorama documentary .

Superintendent Malcolm Simpson in charge of Football Policing for the Metropolitan Police said:
"Football banning orders are a key weapon against hooligans. This conviction clearly demonstrates that any violence in football will not be tolerated. Those who cause trouble will be identified, prosecuted and prevented from attending football games in the future."
