Space Waye Closing For Two Weekends

Public will not be able to access it while works taking place

Residents are being reminded that Space Waye, the borough’s reuse and recycling centre, will be closed on two weekends in December for works to enable it to return to seven days a week access for the public.

It will be closed on Saturday 9 December and Sunday 10 December, then on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December.

The site will re-open to the public seven days a week on Monday 18 December.

On the two weekends Space Waye is closed, residents can take waste to sites in neighbouring West London Waste Authority boroughs. The nearest sites are:

• Townmead Road Reuse and Recycling Centre, Townmead Road, Kew, TW9 4EL
• Greenford Road Reuse and Recycling Centre, Greenford, UB6 9AP.

Charges may apply to vans and the disposal of building materials and DIY waste. Other use of these sites is free when showing proof of address (Council Tax bill or recently dated utility bill).

Detailed information is available at: www.hounslow.gov.uk/spacewaye.

Residents with bulky items can book a Tidy Town collection for a charge, or donate good quality furniture to the Hounslow Furniture Project which will collect items for free.

Residents can also sign up for garden waste collection at a reduced cost of £30 which will provide a doorstep service until 31 March 2017. People in receipt of Council Tax Support pay £15.

Anyone wanting advice or support about what can and cannot be recycled can email recycling@hounslow.gov.uk for information.
