Hounslow Library Relocates Its Archive

In advance of the library's move to a new home in May

As part of Hounslow Library’s move this May, the Archive and Local Studies service based at the library will also be relocating.

The library, currently based in the Treaty Centre, will close from 5pm on Friday 12 May and will re-open on Thursday 18 May, at its new temporary home at the Civic Centre in Lampton Road.

The Archive and Local Studies service will re-open at Feltham Library at the beginning of June. It will stop taking public enquiries from Monday 8 May so that items can be packed away in preparation for the move.

The Archive and Local Studies collection [west of the borough] and part of the Thomas Layton special collection will also move to Feltham Library. The rest of the Thomas Layton special collection will be stored temporarily in high grade out-of-borough storage until further space is found to house the full collection.

The Archive service will otherwise continue to operate normally with availability by appointment.
Any adjustments to the opening hours of the Archive/Local Studies service at Chiswick Library will remain unchanged. [Two days a week and alternative Saturdays].

During the temporary week-long closure while Hounslow Library moves, residents can continue to use the other libraries nearby:
Heston Library – New Heston Road, TW5 0LW. T: 020 8898 0256
Osterley Library – St Mary’s Crescent, TW7 4NB T: 020 8560 4295
Isleworth Library – Twickenham Road, TW7 7EU T: 020 8560 2934

Residents may also renew items online by visiting www.hounslowlibraries.org or contacting their local library by telephone. Following the move of Hounslow Library, opening hours and services will remain unchanged.
