Councillor Steve Curran and his son hailed as local 'Batman and Robin'

Leader of Hounslow Council Steve Curran was being hailed as a local hero by the borough's top policeman this week.

Cllr Curran, who lives in Brentford, and his son Sam, chased and caught a thief when they spotted him trying to make off with a pedal bike.

They caught and held onto the culprit until police arrived.

Borough Commander Raj Kohli commended the pair on their bravery.

He tweeted, "Citizens preventing crime..our own council leader Steve Curran & son Samuel chased & detained bike thief.Great work.Hounslow's Batman&Robin"

We tried to contact Cllr Curran for comment but he was understood to be away on a break.
