Beat The Burglars During The Dark Nights

Hounslow Council launch advice to keep families safe

With the clocks set to go back this weekend, Hounslow Police and Hounslow Council have teamed up in a bid to beat burglars in the borough during the dark nights.

As part of this drive, the police and council have designed special ‘super hero’ posters and a beat the burglar pack advising residents on how they can keep their homes, families and valuables safer this autumn and winter.

Inspector Ricky Kandohla of Hounslow Police said: “With clocks going back this weekend and the nights getting darker there is an increased risk of burglary.

“That’s why we are advising residents of a few simple ways on how they can beat the burglars.”

Dozens of the superhero posters will be up around the borough publicising tips on how to deter burglars.

Cllr Ed Mayne, cabinet member for community safety and regulatory services, said: “The beat the burglar drive is about our determination to make a safer borough.

“I would urge residents to take a minute or two and go to www.hounslow.gov.uk/burglary  and pick up some tips on how to get the better of burglars now the dark nights have returned.”
