Hounslow Council Has Its Own Wheelie Team

Gearing up for Prudential RideLondon cycle race

Hounslow Council has entered its own team to compete in next month’s international cycling event, Prudential RideLondon – which will pass through Chiswick on Sunday 4 August.

The Hounslow Wheelers will take part in the Business Relay section of Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 – the same course which Sir Bradley Wiggins rode in last year’s Olympics.

Team captain Brendon Walsh – director of director regeneration, economic development and environment – said: “We decided to enter a team as Hounslow is one of London’s biking boroughs with some of the most active cyclists in the capital.

“Hopefully it will also highlight Hounslow in front of an audience of thousands and possibly millions on TV as a fit place to live and do business in.”

The event will also mean road closures and parking restrictions along the route, and traffic disruption is expected throughout the day.
