Foster Carers And Families Have Fun Day

Celebrating the role the carers play in the lives of children

Foster carers and their families enjoyed the sunshine on Saturday for the annual Foster Carers Fun Day.

The event saw more than 130 people enjoying a fun-packed day celebrating the role foster carers play in the lives of local looked after children.

Families took advantage of the sunny weather to enjoy a range of activities such as face painting, cake decorating, an inflatable slide, sports activities, drumming sessions, hand massage, arts and crafts, and a children’s entertainer.

The fire service again showed their support of the event by sending a fire engine and crew from Heston Fire Station.

Cllr Lily Bath, cabinet member for children and families, said: “It was wonderful to see so many of our fostering families enjoying themselves together on a lovely summer day.

“It’s important we make sure we show our carers how much we appreciate their work, and if we can all have fun at the same time it’s even better!”
