Free Open Air Cinema Visits Hounslow

Part of Hounslow Council's Summer Reading Challenge

Watch a film under the stars and immerse yourself in the spine tingling adventure of the Spiderwick Chronicles (PG) at Beaversfield Park on Saturday 20 July, from 7pm (with the film starting at dusk, 9.20pm).

The free, family, film will launch the return of Hounslow’s Summer Reading Challenge, with this year’s theme being ‘Creepy House’.  The film, an adaption of ‘ Spiderwick Chronicles’ a series of children books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, tells the story of Jake and his siblings who move into Spiderwick Estate and encounter  terrifying secrets, invisible fairies, toothless goblins, and evil ogres.

Before the showing of the film, Hounslow Libraries will be on hand from 7pm, for you to preview the ‘spooky’ workshop program taking place in local libraries over summer. The program will complement the ‘creepy house’ theme of this year’s summer reading challenge and will include designing scary masks and making creepy crawlies.

The screening of Spiderwick Chronicles is free, with no booking required, and you can bring your own refreshments, or purchase them at the event.

Other free outdoor films to watch out for this summer in Hounslow include the film adaption of Roald Dahl’s ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ (PG) on 14 September and ‘Tinker, Tailor Soldier Spy’ (15) on 15 September, both showing at Boston Manor Park.

Working in partnership with Nomad Cinema, Hounslow’s free outdoor films and Summer Reading Challenge are delivered by John Laing Integrated Services working on behalf of Hounslow Council.

Nomad Cinema will also be showing ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’, at Boston Manor Park on Friday 9 August. Tickets can be purchased from  www.whereisthenomad.com
