A new study says borough has many top features
Hounslow is one of the country’s go to places for ambitious businesses to invest in, according to a latest study.
Local Futures - a research and strategy consultancy that provides a geographical perspective on economic, social and environmental change – says the west London borough is the fourth best out of 325 local authorities in England in its overall economic score.
Cllr Ruth Cadbury, cabinet member for planning and regeneration, said: “Hounslow offers a unique opportunity for investors to help the council go for growth and reap substantial rewards. We are a vibrant and diverse borough brimming with an energetic, talented population. We are ideally placed for ambitious businesses with Heathrow on our doorstep and the heart of London just a beat away.”
The study reveals that Hounslow is placed in the top 20% in the country in several key indicators which are vital for businesses to flourish, including:
Hounslow is already home to major multi-national companies including BSkyB and IBM.
The Local Futures findings come before the launch of Great West – a new magazine produced by specialist regeneration publisher, 3Fox International – which promotes opportunities in Hounslow to an audience of investors.
The magazine features articles on Hounslow's character, its economy and major investment opportunities, including Gillette Corner, Hounslow town centre and Brentford High Street.
There is also more room for growth for businesses of all sizes, with exciting plans to regenerate Hounslow High Street and the riverside at Brentford. The London Octopus, a building of dramatic, contemporary architecture features on the cover of Great West and is planned for the Chiswick roundabout.
Representatives from several international developers including Berkeley Homes, Barratt Homes, London and Bath Estates and Segro attended the launch yesterday (Tuesday, 16 April).
