Chiswick School is "good" according to OFSTED rating
Every secondary school in the borough is now rated either “outstanding” or “good” by Ofsted.
This means six of Hounslow’s 14 secondary schools are rated outstanding, with the remainder all rated good.
The news comes as Chiswick School received a good rating following an inspection last month.
Chiswick joins Heston Community School, which also achieved the good rating in January this year.
Judith Pettersen, director of children’s services and lifelong learning at the London Borough of Hounslow, said:
“The team at Chiswick has worked hard to achieve this richly deserved judgement, and we all want to congratulate them on seeing their efforts recognised.
“Their success puts the borough in the enviable position where all our secondary schools are judged either outstanding or good.
“Everyone who works in, or with, our local secondary schools should be incredibly proud of this achievement. It hasn’t happened overnight, and is a testament to their dedication, commitment and professionalism when working with young people in the borough.”
Hounslow is now one of only a handful of areas in the country where all the secondary schools are judged to be outstanding or good.
Tony Ryan, head of Chiswick School, said:
“The students, staff, parents and governors of Chiswick School have been working towards this judgement for some time.
“I am certain that this will be welcome news for local parents; these same parents can now rest assured that the best is yet to come as we work to make Chiswick School outstanding.”
