A recent survey commissioned by the Mayor of London has found that adult learners in Hounslow are achieving outcomes above the London average across several key indicators. The findings highlight the performance of Learn Hounslow, the borough’s adult education programme, which supports over 2,000 learners annually.

Learn Hounslow offers a range of training opportunities for residents, including English language courses, digital skills development, and creative subjects such as ceramics. The programme is delivered by Hounslow Council and aims to support both personal development and career progression.

According to the survey:

  • 50% of Hounslow learners reported progression in their current employment, compared to a London-wide average of 38%.
  • 24% experienced an increase in income, above the London average of 18%.
  • 75% moved on to further study, compared to 65% across London.
  • 98% reported a positive social outcome.
  • 46% saw a positive economic outcome.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, welcomed the results, stating that the programme is helping learners build confidence and advance their careers.

The survey forms part of wider efforts to assess the impact of adult education across London boroughs. Learn Hounslow continues to offer courses throughout the year, with further information available at www.hounslow.gov.uk/adultlearning.
