It was National Secondary Offer Day last Friday (1 March) and children hoping to attend school in Hounslow were notified of which school they were likely to be going to this September.

Overall two thirds were allocated a place at their first choice school with 95% of students getting an offer from one of their preferred schools

95 per cent of Hounslow students receive offer to a preferred secondary school

The figures were released by the Pan London Admission Board, responsible for the coordination of school admissions across local authorities in London.

All parents and carers should have received an email with the outcome of their application on Friday 1 March. They will need to respond to their child’s offer using the online EAdmissions portal by Friday 15 March. After this date it will not be possible to respond online, as the portal will close.

Those who have not been offered their first preference school will also receive a letter by first class post. Parents can find out more information about the process and what to do next in the letter.

Councillor Lily Bath, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment, said, “In Hounslow, all the secondary schools are recognised by Ofsted as either ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ and I am delighted for the families and students who have secured placements in their preferred secondary schools this September.

“As a Council we strongly believe that education holds the power to transform lives and create opportunities for children and young people, underscoring our commitment to ensure the best possible educational experiences for all in Hounslow.”
