Apply Now for a School Place in Hounslow Borough

Process has begun for entry in next academic year

Deadline Looms for Primary School Admissions
Parents and carers urged to submit applications as early as possible

The application process for primary and secondary school entry in 2022 is now open, but Hounslow Council is warning that to stand a chance of getting your child into a school of your choice you must meet the deadline.

Parents and carers are being encouraged to submit applications as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.

The council says that applications can be submitted quickly and easily online via its website and its Schools Admissions Team are available to offer support. The team can offer advice and assistance by phone, on 020 8583 2721/2711 or by email admissions@hounslow.gov.uk.

Those with a child in Year 6 and born between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011, will need to apply for a secondary school place.

Applications to transfer to secondary school (Year 7) in September 2022, must be submitted by the 31 October 2021.

Parents and carers with a child born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, will need to apply for a primary school (Reception Class). The deadline for applications for September 2022 is 15 January 2022.

Any applications received after the deadlines will be considered late, and late applications will only be processed after ‘on time’ applications.

Missing the deadline increases the risk of not being offered a place at a preferred school – even if the child already has a sibling there.

Councillor Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education, Children’s Services and Youth Services, said, “We are lucky to have a tremendous and diverse set of teachers, school leaders, support staff and governors, who work hard to support all children in getting the best start in life.

“Education spending has been increased over recent years and Hounslow Council has a firm commitment to excellent education, enabling the schools to help children achieve their full potential.

"I feel extremely fortunate to have attended both primary and secondary school in Hounslow, and I hope that your child has the same wonderful experience that I did.”

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
