Free Cultural Walking Tours Continue in September
Find out about local culture, history and food from a Blue Badge Guide
This summer's free walking tours, led by a Blue Badge Guide continue in September, offering an opportunity to discover some of the history and culture of Fulham and Shepherd's Bush.
The free tours are all led by Blue Badge Guides with a comprehensive knowledge of our local areas.
Cllr Andrew Jones, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, says: “There is so much culture and history right under our noses in Hammersmith & Fulham and these free walks are the perfect way of discovering it.
“I would encourage everyone to sign-up and uncover something new about the borough.”

The Walham Green Wanderer
Modern day Fulham Broadway is celebrated for its pubs, bars and restaurants. This is home to Chelsea FC but it is really a medieval village, Walham Green. You can still just about make out the old Green and the pond. Come on the Walham Green Wander and get the ‘back story’ on today’s buzzy Fulham Broadway.

Fulham Reach
Putney Bridge is the dividing point - below there, the Thames is more associated with its eventual contact with ocean, but above the bridge it is more Wind In The Willows and regattas. Before World War One the Thames above Putney was the principal pleasure resort of Southern England. We walk from Hammersmith Bridge to Putney and see evidence of the river’s use throughout the 19th century - river borne industry. And this is also a nature walk, along ‘London’s beach’.

Shepherds Bush and and The Who
First there was Elvis. Then there was La Dolce Vita. Then there were two young assistant directors at Pinewood in love with French Nouvelle Vague, looking for a suitable existential film project. The result was The Who. This walk celebrates some of the band’s haunts around The Bush.
