London Overground's "M25 on Rails " is Complete

You can now circle the Capital from our four local stations

The London Overground orbital network, dubbed the rail equivalent of the M25, is now complete.

That means people can now take the Overground from local stations Shepherd's Bush, Olympia, West Brompton or Imperial Wharf and travel in a complete circle around London.

The final link in this orbital chain, an extension of the network from Clapham Junction to Highbury & Islington, via Surrey Quays has been opened this week.

The new stations connecting Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction are Queens Road Peckham, Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill, Clapham High Street and Wandsworth Road.

This is the final stage of a £1.5 billion investment to improve the London Overground for a more frequent, reliable and accessible network. 

London Overground's new line extension from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction - the southern end of the current Overground line from Willesden Junction, which takes in the H & F stations - means south west London now has a fast link to south east london.

With fast frequent services, the new link opens up new destinations and connections to:

• Canada Water (for Jubilee line services to Canary Wharf, the West End and Stratford)
• Clapham High Street (for Northern line services to the City and the West End)
• Clapham Junction (for services to Victoria, Waterloo, west London, Gatwick Airport and destinations in the south of England)
• Highbury & Islington (for Victoria line and National Rail services)
• Shadwell (for DLR services to Bank and Canary Wharf)
• Shoreditch High Street (for the City)
• Whitechapel (for District and Hammersmith & City line services)

From Surrey Quays, there are trains every few minutes to Highbury and Islington, where trains run west through Hammersmith and Fulham to complete the circle at Clapham Junction.
