Roadshow to visit Lyric Square this month
Borough residents will be able to get in the mood for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games when a special 'Get Set London Roadshow' visits Lyric Square on Wednesday 26 March.
Run jointly by the London Development Agency and London 2012, the roadshow brings to life some of London's ambitions for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is a chance for Londoners to find out how the 2012 Games will benefit jobs and skills, culture, sports, business and regeneration in the capital.
As well as digintaries from London 2012 and sporting stars, the event will be attended by Cllr Frances Stainton, H&F's Cabinet Member for Culture and Heritage and Cllr Paul Bristow, H&F's Cabinet Member for Residents' Services.
Cllr Stainton said: "The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be a truly wonderful ocassion. It will put London at the centre of the world both from a sporting point of view and from a cultural perspective. I am very much looking forward to getting into the spirit of the Games when the roadshow visits Lyric Square."
Cllr Bristow added: "I hope as many residents as possible visit the roadshow on 26 March. It promises to be a fun day for everyone. The Games provide London and Londoners with many opportunities so why not come to Lyric Square to learn more."
The Roadshow is the first of many events from the Hammersmith and Fulham council celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the 1908 Olympic games held in White City. For more information on the 1908 Legacy celebrations contact H&F events team on 0208 753 3807.
