White City academy's year six results jump by 24%
Ark Bentworth Primary Academy in White City has been named the most improved primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham following Year Six exams.
The accolade came after the number of pupils at the school in Bentworth Road, White City, achieving a combined Level 4 in reading, writing and maths jumped 24%.
Department for Education figures show exam results up from 68% in 2014 to 92% in December.
" I’m delighted with this year’s results," says Damian McBeath, executive headteacher of three local primary academies, Ark Bentworth, Ark Conway and Ark Swift. " They really demonstrate that the hard work we’ve been putting in is paying off.
"Our pupils and teachers have really gone the extra mile to get these results, and to be improving year on year is a huge achievement.
"I’d like to thank the whole school community, including all the staff and parents for their support."
The results also place the primary in the top two per cent of most improved schools across the whole of London. Level 4 is the benchmark which pupils at the end of primary school are expected to achieve. The national average rate stands at 80%.
" This really is an impressive achievement," says Councillor Sue Macmillan, Cabinet Member for Children and Education.
" We know staff and students have worked incredibly hard for these results and they should all be very proud."
Ark Bentworth in Bentworth Way, W12 is holding a reception open day tomorrow, January 12 from 10am. To book in, call the school on 020 8743 252 or find out more on the website.
