Local women invited to walk, jog or run for Cancer Research
Race for Life is returning to Wormwood Scrubs on Wednesday July 11, and aiming to raise thousands more pounds for Cancer Research UK.
Race for Life is of course the UK's largest women-only fundraising event and Cancer Research is inviting women of all ages, shapes and sizes to walk, jog or run the 5k course.
Women who fancy a bigger challenge are also being offered the chance to go round the course twice and complete a 10k course.
All the money raised by Race for Life goes to fund Cancer Research UK's life-saving work.
Emma Gilbert, Head of Race for Life, said: " All women
can embrace Race for Life whatever their age, fitness level or
background to raise money for all cancers.
"Every two minutes someone in the UK is told they have cancer. It touches so many lives and the back signs worn by everyone taking part are a moving reminder to us all that women are taking part to celebrate lives that have been saved but also sadly lives that have been lost.
" We are asking women from across the country to unite, take part in the biggest fight against
cancer this summer, and raise money for Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into all
types of cancers, because it is 'all of us v cancer' and together we can help more people
survive."
