Operation results in arrests, search warrants and seizures

A police Week of Action in the Shepherd's Bush area has resulted in 25 arrests and the seizure of cars, alcohol, tobacco and drugs.

Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham Safer Neighbourhoods Teams working in partnership with the Hammersmith and Fulham took part in the operation earlier this month.

As well as 25 arrests, the Week of Action resulted in five search warrants being executed and five motor vehicles being seized.

Also seized were 700 bottles of illegal wine, 1600 illegal cigarettes, 1.7kg of illegal tobacco and both Class A and B drugs.

On November 8, High Visibility Patrols visited the Charecroft Estate in W12. Police say a male was arrested for possession with intent to supply 14 wraps of suspected Class A Drugs.

A nearby address was subsequently searched and a further 20 wraps were seized, and two further arrests were made.

Also on November 8, police executed a drugs warrant at an address in Brackenberry Road, W6, where a female occupant was arrested for possession of heroin.

Patrols also joined local court staff to deal with outstanding court fines. One persons was arrested on warrant, and two other males were arrested for non payment of fines totalling £3000.

On November 9, an Automatic Number Plate Reader was used in Scrubs Lane. Police say 27 vehicles were stopped, and five cars seized for having no insurance. Five people were arrested for Fraud, Immigration, Disqualified Driving, Drink Driving and Wanted on Warrant.

On the same day, two males were arrested for shoplifting in Westfield Shopping Centre. Police found stolen goods worth £1500 in a vehicle being used by the suspects.

On November 10, there was a joint operation with Customs, UK Borders Agency and Hammersmith and Fulham Council investigating illegal sales of alcohol and tobacco.The team visited various venues which resulted in two arrests for immigration offences, the seizure of three vans containing large quantities of illegally imported alcohol, cigararettes and tobacco and a £13,000 car containing illegal alcohol.

Also that day, a drugs warrant was executed at an address in White City Road, W12 with two males arrested for possession of cannabis.

On November 11, Rowdy Bus targeting anti social behaviour carried out ten stop and searches, and one male was arrested for immigration offences.

Officers also assisted in executing a drugs warrant at an address in Flora Gardens, W6 where two males were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. A drugs warrant was executed at an address in Thornfield Road,W12, where one male was given a formal warning for possession of cannabis.

On November 12, a drugs warrant was executed at an address in St Stephens Avenue, W12. No drugs were found, but a malnourished dog was seized and taken to an RSPCA Hospital. The owner was later arrested for animal cruelty.

A drugs warrant was also executed at an address in Godolphin Road, W12, but no drugs were found.

A police spokesperson said: " Many of the Safer Neighbourhoods Teams based in the north of the borough have taken part in this highly successful week of action targeting a wide variety of issues.

" Their actions will send out a clear message to people who undertake criminal activity within our borough that it will not be tolerated."
