Join guided tours our our greenest spaces
This weekend, June 8 and 9, is Open Garden Squares Weekend, with over 200 gardens across London, range from the historic and traditional to the new and experimental, opening their gates to the public.
In our borough, seven gardens are open.
In Hammersmith:
Emery Walker's House, 7 Hammersmith Terrace, open Sunday from 2pm - 5pm. Full of original William Morris wallpapers, textiles and furniture, it is the best-preserved Arts-and-Crafts interior in Britain.
William Morris Society, Kelmscott House, 26 Upper Mall, open Sunday 10am till 5pm: Museum open. Book and gift stall. Handout containing Morris’s description and plan of the 1880s garden. Display of Morris’s designs. Children’s quiz and trail. Refreshments available.
River Cafe: Tours of this garden are now fully booked.
Sycamore House, Sycamore Gardens, open Saturday 2pm - 5pm:Tea, coffee, homemade cakes. Plant and craft stalls.
In Fulham:
Fulham Palace, open Saturday, from noon till 3pm: Three special guided tours by volunteers for Open Garden Squares Weekend ticket holders at 12 noon, 1pm and 2 pm.
Fulham Palace Meadow Allotments, open Saturday, 11.30am till 3.30pm: Guided tours. Teas and light refreshments. Plant and produce stall.
In Shepherd's Bush:
John Betts House, on Goldhawk Road/Rylett Road, open Saturday, 2pm - 5pm, refreshments and plant sales.
