Kensington Olympia Festival Continues in November

With an architectural walk, music and fine art exhibition

The Kensington Olympia Festival of Music and the Arts. or KOFMA continues its autumn season of events, including an architectural walk, music and fine art throughout November.

Here's what's on offer:

Tuesday 6 November 10.30am - Architectural walk with Caroline MacMillan

The magnificent war memorial on Shepherd’s Bush Green erected to commemorate those who died a hundred years ago in The Great War is the starting place for this west London walk. Caroline will take us to the site of the stadium erected by a local builder for the 1908 Olympics, through a Japanese Garden built the same year for a major exhibition and to LimeGrove where Charles Dickens established a home for ‘fallen women’ and later many films and television programmes were made.

Caroline MacMillan has lived in west London for most of her life and guided local walks for several years. The interesting and historical facts she has meticulously researched brings to life the streets, buildings and the people who have lived and worked there over the centuries.
Her walks are informal and informative and, as she always says, to be enjoyed.
