Hammersmith and Fulham Council's "listening cab" is touring the borough on Saturday July 2, bringing councillors and transport officers to meet residents and hear their views on how the local transport network can be improved.

The cab will be visiting the three town centres and hosting mini road shows at each. They will be at:

10am – 11.30am: Shepherds Bush Library, Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush, W12

12.15pm – 1.45pm: Fair on the Green, Parsons Green, Fulham, SW6

2.30pm – 4pm: Ravenscourt Park (Ravenscourt Park Avenue entrance), Hammersmith, W6

Cllr Nick Botterill, deputy leader of H&F Council and cabinet member for environment, said: "We have heard some very valid points and there have been some excellent suggestions on how to improve traffic flow and parking, as well as other topics. We are grateful that residents have spared the time to speak to us about a subject they are obviously passionate about.

“I would urge them to keep the comments coming, especially as our transport department is sifting through them all, so that we can debate the best suggestions and ideas at a transport summit later this year.”

H&F has the most congested roads in the capital with a mind-numbing 12.1 million hours lost in traffic per mile of road per year, according to Transport for London (TfL) statistics. The Wimbledon branch of the District Line also has the most densely packed carriages outside central London.

Since the start of the year, H&F Council has been working to improve transport in the borough. This includes the introduction of several new car club bays, successful lobbying for funding from Transport for London to create a new slip road and other highways improvements on Fulham Palace Road and road resurfacing across the borough.
