Judge bans Welsh husband and wife from London for eight weeks
A Welsh couple have been banned from visiting London after admitting to having oral sex in Westfield Shopping Centre - in front of their young children.
The Metro newspaper reports that Hammersmith Magistrates Court heard Akeela Ali, 25, and her husband Fahad Bilal, 26, from Newport in South Wales, had come on a day trip to Westfield in Shepherd's Bush with their children aged three and five.
They let the children run off and play while they sat together on a sofa next to the lifts. CCTV cameras then captured Ali moving her head up and down and masturbating Bilal with her right hand.
On Thursday November 5, the couple admitted outraging public decency.
The Metro says when interviewed by police on October 22, Bilal said they started kissing and one thing led to another, adding that it was a "human mistake".
In court, Mrs Ali, who is pregnant, said in her defence that her hormones were "everywhere" and she started things up even though she knew it was wrong to do so in a public place.
The couple said that they thought about stopping when their children returned but instead carried on.
Prosecutor Arlene De Silva said of Mrs Ali: " She was aware that one of the children was sitting beside Mr Bilal for a portion of the event. She said she regretted the incident and was ashamed.
" It was not that busy at the time but he knew it was a public area."
The couple, who represented themselves, had to be sentenced separately as they took turns to look after their children outside the courtroom.
The judge said: " You understand the seriousness of this is because you are in public, your children are there, other people’s children are there. Fortunately I have been told no one in particular has seen it, but you are the adult and you should know better."
The judge told the couple they would be excluded from from coming within the M25 for eight weeks.
