Police seize cocaine and cannabis worth over £100,000
Hammersmith and Fulham Police have uncovered a drugs factory operating in Edith Road, W14 and seized drugs with a street value of over £100,000.
Police say that on Thursday October 4 officers from the Crime Squad conducted an intelligence-led proactive operation targeting drugs supply within the borough.
They simultaneously executed two search warrants at addresses and seized drugs estimated at more than £100,000.
Approximately two to three kilos of suspected cocaine and a further kilo of herbal cannabis were seized, along with what police call "a sizeable quantity" of cash.
Three men were arrested and subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs.
At Edith Road W14, a 49 year old man was detained outside the address and was allegedly in possession of a substantial quantity of cocaine.
A man aged 25 was found inside the address where police discovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine and herbal cannabis. Police also discovered alleged evidence suggesting that this address was being used for the wholesale preparation of controlled drugs.
Among the discoveries were a hydraulic press, allegedly containing a quantity of white powder in the process of being prepared for distribution. They also found suspected mixing agent, packaging and scales.
At an address at Beech Avenue in Acton, W3 a further substantial quantity of cocaine was discovered in a locked cupboard. A thirty nine year old man was arrested, and a search of the premises uncovered further mixing agents, packaging, scales and cash being recovered.
DC Jessica Newton from the Crime Squad at Hammersmith and Fulham says: " This operation has disrupted an alleged organised criminal network involved in the distribution of Class A drugs. Substantial quantities of controlled drugs have been recovered, which were destined for the streets of Hammersmith and Fulham.
"This underlines our commitment to tackle the supply of drugs at every level on the borough. We would like to reassure members of the community that Hammersmith and Fulham police are working tirelessly to combat this problem and bring offenders to justice."
On Friday 5 October three men were charged with a variety of offences and appeared at court on Saturday 6 October.
