Do You Recognise this Woman?
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information after a woman suffering from multiple sclerosis was threatened, abused and assaulted on a train between Shepherd's Bush and Clapham Junction.
Officers have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to identify and talk to in connection with the incident, which took place around 8.10pm on Wednesday, July 20.
The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was assaulted by a woman with a pram as she was about to board a train at Shepherds Bush.
During the journey to Clapham Junction, through Olympia, West Brompton and Imperial Wharf Stations, the victim was then subjected to threats of violence and racial abuse by the woman with the pram.
On arrival at Clapham Junction the woman struck the victim across the face, causing her to fall to the floor and requiring attention from London Ambulance Service paramedics.
PC Phil Osafo, the investigating officer, said: " This was a vicious and unacceptable attack on a vulnerable woman and we are determined to catch the person responsible.
" We have made numerous local enquiries with officers in local neighbourhood policing teams and circulated this woman’s image on several police intelligence databases in a bid to identify her but to no avail so far.
" The CCTV image very good and I am certain someone will recognise her. If you think you know the woman, or have any information that could assist our investigation, we want to hear from you."
