New Support Group Set Up to Tackle Loneliness

Charities launch weekly meetings at Rosaline Road centre

Two local charities have teamed up to launch a weekly support group aimed at tackling loneliness.

Fulham Good Neighbours and the Starfish Group are inviting any residents who feel lonely to their first meeting at Rosaline Road centre on Sunday 26 March at 4pm.

Their Beating Loneliness Together group joins up like-minded people from across the borough to get guidance and support and share experiences with others in a similar situation.

"We understand that loneliness affects our health and happiness. Surveys suggest that millions of people of all ages in the UK often feel lonely," says Craig Morley of The Starfish Group (UK), who organised the new event.

"Though there are plenty of clubs and activities people could join, sometimes they just don't feel confident enough to go, or fear rejection.

"Our experience is that drawing strength from like-minded people can help overcome these issues. That's why we created Beating Loneliness Together."

Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no obligation to attend future events. Joining in is entirely free and tea, coffee and cake will be provided.

If you are able to make it, the organisers ask to please let them know by completing this form. Please only put your name down if you are sure you can make it as numbers are limited.
