Hammersmith Academy Holds Open Evening |
Parents invited to find out about borough's newest school Parents and local residents are invited to meet Gary Kynaston, he headteacher of the new Hammersmith Academy, at an Information Evening taking place at Cathnor Park Children's Centre in Melina Road on Thursday July 15 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm The academy, due to open in September 2011, is being built on the site of the former Stamford House young offenders' institute in Melina Road. It is co-sponsored by the Mercers' Company and The Information Technologists' Company and will be an "all-ability, mixed non-denominational 11-18 academy in the Askew ward area of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham". In 2011, the school aims to admit 120 students into year 7 and 120 into year 12, building to a full school with up to 780 students by the year 2015.
