Theatre Founder To Stand For Green Party

Actress and singer Andrea Black to stand in Syon as local election candidate

The Green Party has announced that Andrea Black is to stand as its candidate in Syon in the forthcoming local elections on 3 May.

Brentford-based actress, singer, song writer and author of children's books - Andrea Black has a former Chiswick connection as she was a founder member of the Tabard Theatre back in the 1980s. She does not have any connection with the local theatre any longer.

With film and stage acting credits to her name, her ninth album in production, eleven children's books and a musical, Andrea says she discovered the Green Party had the potential to fulfil and nourish people with a holistic approach, whilst encouraging The Arts.

Speaking to Green Party supporters, Andrea Black said; "Having just returned from a trip to South Africa, I have seen how disparity and poverty, destroys hope and desire. We all want the best for our children, and our children want the best for us. I hope at this time to fuse my creative projects with my global conscience to explore ways of helping others and I believe that by working with the Green Party we have the best hope for a happy future."

Two further Green Party candidates for Syon ward will be announced shortly.
